With your hostTami Simon

Let us share proven, powerful ways to stay steady, strong, and loving amid deeply unsettling and difficult times. We will show you how the heart trainings and tools of compassion and mindful loving awareness can support you and bring well-being and joy amid it all.

At a time when many of us feel a sense of defeat and even futility, how can mindfulness and compassion be activated to address the collective suffering we face?

Please join us for an important conversation that connects our inner development to outer change in the world.

On July 27, 2022, at 8 pm ET | 5 pm PT, JACK KORNFIELD and TARA BRACH will be joined by Sounds True founder TAMI SIMON for a special live webinar on “Activating Mindfulness and Compassion: Timeless Medicine for a Troubled World.” You can register here.

This special webinar features the creators of The Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), JACK KORNFIELD and TARA BRACH, joined by two recent MMTCP participants, the founder of Active Peace Yoga, REGGIE HUBBARD, and award-winning author and cultural worker AISHAH SHAHIDAH SIMMONS, along with recording artist and inspirational powerhouse JUSTIN MICHAEL WILLIAMS and celebrated yoga teacher and founder of Off the Mat, Into the World®, SEANE CORN.

This special conversation on “Activating Mindfulness and Compassion: Timeless Medicine for a Troubled World” is a fundraiser to support the Mindful Champions scholarship program. “Mindful Champions” are people who are committed to creating positive change in the world by bringing mindfulness and compassion into prisons, shelter systems, hospices, civil service organizations, and other underserved grassroots communities. Scholarship applications are open to all, and we encourage individuals from the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community to apply.

HELP US CREATE THE NEXT GENERATION OF MINDFULNESS TEACHERS

The Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program is the world’s leading training program for developing a new generation of mindfulness teachers. Graduates of the two-year intensive training are certified to teach meditation by the Greater Good Science Center and have been thoroughly prepared to introduce mindfulness and compassion practices to people in different settings worldwide.

The Sounds True Foundation, along with JACK KORNFIELD and TARA BRACH, is committed to creating access to this intensive training program so that people with financial need can bring these practices to diverse demographics, underserved communities, and people who would otherwise not have easy access to mindfulness and compassion training. We want to make sure we have removed financial barriers so that people who are inspired to become mindfulness teachers can bring these life-transforming practices to every corner of the world.

Together, we can empower a new generation of diverse and inclusive mindfulness teachers. We need your help to do so:

WHAT MINDFUL CHAMPIONS ARE SAYING

“I believe that mindfulness and compassion are a means toward leaning in and opening versus ignoring or avoiding the suffering we face both on an internal and external basis. I see this program as a portal for greater compassion for self as well as others in a world where there is so much pain, anger, mistrust, and suffering. Through my life experiences I want to show others how mindfulness and compassion can move us toward becoming more present, more caring, more forgiving, and more loving human beings, characteristics so desperately needed now more than ever.”
—Lisa
“It has been a great gift. The whole program has been an incredible resource during the pandemic, and it has allowed me to be in a place of gratitude for the opportunity of being a part of this program and the opportunity to share this knowledge in my community. Without the full scholarship, I would not have been able to enroll, because I was not having any earnings and also due to the peso/dollar exchange rate. I honestly can say that it impacts every aspect of my life. I feel so much gratitude for all the people that made it possible that I could be here, in this amazing program, with the best teachers and the best staff anyone could wish for.”
—Dolores
“I would not have been able to attend the program without the full scholarship. I have deepened my learning process and have been reaching deeper levels of understanding. … I find myself navigating this troubled world with more ease, less reactive to challenging situations, finding more space to hold the sorrows and pains and learning to savor moments of pleasure, of good fortune, practicing gratefulness for being in the here and now.”
